In 1987, James Ray Gold published his first compilation of genealogy research, Traces of Gold

Ray.png

He intended it to be a living document, reflecting family growth and change. Historical information, from the stories and research of others such as Lena Gold Wilson, Finis Gold, Gladwyn Gold, "Tennessee Bill" Gold, James Parks Gold, Denzil Garrison and Sloan Robertson, has been included over time.

Ray generously agreed to share his research and writing with GenWeb in 2002. When he passed from us in 2008, it was in its third edition.

Our family owes an immense debt of gratitude to Ray. If you are interested in learning about the history of the Golds in the United States, Traces is a great place to start (click HERE.)
