REUNION Q&A
Q: How did this all start?
A: The Missouri descendants of Michael Gold have had reunions for over a hundred years. In the 1970s, Finis Gold, mayor of Nixa, Missouri and our first reunion president, made this an annual tradition. Successive reunion presidents have been Oklahoma state senator Denzil Garrison and PJ Jackson.
The reunion currently is presided over by Shirley Gray and PJ Jackson. Ray Gold gets a lot of credit for keeping the reunion going.
Q: What time does it begin?
A: The Saturday reunion doors open around 10:30 AM.
Q: What should I bring?
A: On Saturday, bring a covered dish and/or a craft item for auction (but you are not required to bring anything).
Q: Is it "family-friendly"?
A: Absolutely! Kids will love it. And it's alcohol and tobacco-free.
Q: Are there hotel accommodations and camping sites nearby?
A: Certainly. The Sac River Cowboy Church is located close to Interstate 44 & MO State Highway 266. There are numerous hotels and campgrounds near that exit.
